Meet Ava

AI Performance Management That Keeps Humans in Charge

Generative AI in HR can be lazy or transformative. Ava is transformative — she reads the evidence, drafts the narrative, summarises 360° feedback, and flags rating bias — but every decision stays with the human. Ava writes the first draft; your managers write the review.

Where AI belongs

Where AI genuinely helps (and where it shouldn't)

AI shouldn't replace judgement. It should erase the 3 hours a manager spends staring at a blank review form at 11pm.

Ava takes on the drafting, summarising, and pattern-spotting — the work managers already hate — and leaves the coaching conversation firmly human.

Section 1
Capabilities

What Ava does

Drafts reviews from evidence

Pulls goal scores, competency ratings, 360° feedback and check-in notes into a first-draft review narrative.

Summarises 360° feedback

Consolidates 8 raters' input into three strengths, three development areas, and a suggested focus.

Surfaces coaching moments

Flags when an employee's trajectory diverges from expectation.

Flags potential bias in ratings

Spots rating patterns that may indicate gender, recency, or leniency bias — and prompts the manager before submission.

Section 2
Trust

Human-in-the-loop, by design

Every Ava output is labelled, editable, and auditable. Managers accept, amend or reject — and every edit is logged.

Section 3
Data privacy

Your data never trains a shared model

Ava runs on isolated tenants. Your employees' data is never used to train models for other customers. You can turn Ava off for any workflow at any time.

Section 4
The outcome

Give managers their review time back

The slowest part of any review is the blank page. Ava assembles the goal scores, competency ratings, and feedback that already exist into a structured first draft, giving managers more time for the coaching conversation itself.

Does Ava make the final rating?
No. Ava drafts and summarises; people decide. She writes a first-draft review narrative from the evidence already in the platform, but the manager accepts, amends or rejects the draft, and the rating is theirs. Every Ava output is labelled, editable and auditable, and every edit a manager makes is logged, so the record shows what the manager changed.
What does Ava use to draft a performance review?
Ava pulls together what is already recorded for the period: goal scores, competency ratings, 360° feedback and check-in notes. From that she writes a structured first draft, and for 360° feedback she consolidates the raters' input into three strengths, three development areas and a suggested focus. The manager then edits the draft into their own review, or discards it.
How does Ava flag potential rating bias?
Before a manager submits, Ava looks for rating patterns that may indicate gender, recency or leniency bias and prompts the manager to look again. It is a prompt, not a verdict: the manager decides whether the pattern reflects bias and whether to change anything, and calibration remains the place where ratings are compared across managers before they go final.
Is my employee data used to train AI?
Your employees' data is never used to train models for other customers. Ava runs on isolated tenants, so one organisation's reviews, ratings and feedback are kept apart from every other's. If your security review needs more detail about how the AI processes data, raise it at the start of the evaluation and confirm the answer in writing alongside the data processing agreement.
Can we switch AI off?
Yes. Ava can be turned off per review cycle, per team or per module, at any time, so you can pilot AI drafting with one group, keep it out of a sensitive process, or run without it entirely. Everything Ava does — drafting, summarising and bias prompts — is assistance on top of a review process that still runs without her.
How does Ava align with the EU AI Act?
The EU AI Act treats AI used to evaluate workers' performance as a high-risk use, which puts human oversight, transparency and record-keeping at the centre. Ava was built around those principles: labelled and editable output, human approval of every decision and a full audit log. CLEAR Talent does not certify your compliance; the team will work through specifics with your compliance function.
